Night Sky Wizardry
Use your wizard teleportation powers to help the citizens of Night Sky Town!
This game was made for the Metroidvania Month 18 Game Jam (Nov 15th to Dec 15th, 2022, jam link), under the jam's objective:
"Metroidvanias. A popular game genre among indie devs (you probably know Hollow Knight, Ori or Axiom Verge) based on Super Metroid and Castlevania in which you explore the map to find upgrades.
In this game jam, I challenge you to make a Metroidvania game in a month!"
Controls (some or all of these will need to be unlocked!):
- Move with WASD or arrow keys
- Jump with spacebar
- Aim with mouse, Launch Teleport Sphere with left-click, and Teleport with right-click
Note: If you can't reach the area to the right in the night zone, there is another area to the left of where the game started that you might need to explore!
This is more of a prototype than a full game due to my own time constraints, and can be completed in about 5-10 minutes. I hope to flesh it out some more in the future!
This game uses free assets, including:
Action RPG Music Free -- VGcomposer (Unity Asset Store)

That was a bunch of fun! Didn't get softlocked at any point. Sometimes it felt like I was fighting were the sphere went.
Thanks for developing!
Thanks for playing! I tried to strike a balance between the sphere being too weak, and being so strong I would have to spend more effort in level design to prevent the player from getting to unintended locations. I think it could probably use some more tuning to feel better. :)
Looks cool but I got soft-locked, when you move down to the platforms near the fire-work NPC there's no way to get back up again
It should be possible to jump and then throw the sphere to get to a higher platform, if I'm thinking of the same place. I should probably increase the range of the sphere a bit to make it more forgiving though. Thanks for playing!
